This book describes Enterprise Application Server (EAServer), which is an integrated set of application servers that you use to deploy Web applications that support high-volume traffic, dynamic content, and intensive online transaction processing (OLTP). EAServer consists of Jaguar Component Transaction Server (Jaguar CTS™), PowerJ®, PowerDynamo™, Adaptive Server® Anywhere, and Application Integrator.

    You can research EBFs using Technical Documents, and you can download EBFs using Electronic Software Distribution (ESD).

You can register by following the instructions on the Web. To use SupportPlus, you need:

  1. A Web browser that supports the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), such as Netscape Navigator 1.2 or later.

  2. An active support license.

  3. A named technical support contact.

  4. Your user ID and password.

Definition

commands and methods

Command names, command option names, utility names, utility flags, methods, and other keywords are in lowercase Arial font.

variable, package, or component

Variables, or words that stand for values that you fill in, file, package, and component names are in italics.

menus and menu options

The vertical bar shows you how to navigate menu selections. For example, selecting Program Files | Sybase | Jaguar | Jaguar Manager requires you to choose each menu selection in order to reach Jaguar Manager.

Information that you enter in Jaguar Manager and programming code are shown in Courier font.
