The Jaguar server can load and execute a Java class file as a component. The class can be a stand-alone class or part of a JavaBean that does not display any graphics or text, that is, a nonvisual JavaBean.
This chapter describes how to create and install Java components using Jaguar Manager and a separate development environment. If you have installed PowerJ, you can develop and deploy Java components entirely from within the PowerJ development environment. See the PowerJ documentation for more information.
For an overview of the component development process using PowerJ, see Building Internet and Enterprise Applications in the Enterprise Application Studio online books collection.
For detailed information on developing Jaguar components with PowerJ, see the PowerJ documentation.
