Appendix A New Features in EAServer Version 3.6.1
Beginning in version 3.6.1, you can deploy a pair of servers in a hot standby configuration consisting of a primary and standby server. The standby server does not accept client connections unless the primary server goes offline. Hot standby is useful when you require high availability, but not the load redistribution offered by a cluster configuration.
For information on configuring servers for hot-standby, see Chapter 1, "Jaguar Configuration," in the Jaguar CTS System Administration Guide. Configure hot-standby properties in the Server Properties dialog box on the hot-standby tab.
License requirements A hot standby configuration requires two deployment licenses or a separately priced hot-standby license. Please contact your Sybase sales representative for license and pricing details.
